I would like to sign up for a regular (every evening) step aerobic course in Munich (I hope this's a proper name?)

What I am looking for is a combination of aerobics and dance where all group has to emulate a movement of one instructor, accompanied by some nice music, rather than access to some exercise equipment such as bikes or weights.

I have done some search but I haven't found any gym that would offer such courses on regular basis ie. every evening or at least every second evening.

Any help much appreciated

Hey bidul,
When I lived in Munich (06 & 07), I used to use the M.I.S.S. (München Individuelles Sport Studio) by Isartor. I really liked the whole facility and the instructors!
Here is the link to their homepage: http://www.miss-sportstudio.de/
Check that out. If you follow the 'Kursplan' link on the left, you will see the classes etc.
Enjoy!

Thank you for your recommendation but do they have a course that I have described? What is a german word for such a course?

There is also a ladies gym at the HBF called Body Up Diva. Here is their program smile.gif

Another suggestion: Balance Wellness for Women in Maxvorstadt-Neuhausen. They offer a good range of classes. Unfortunately they don't list their offerings or schedules online, so you'll need to contact them directly to see if they've got a class at the time and on the day you want.

Thank you girls for your tips! Just one more question - if I get myself a membership to a gym am I allowed to go to whichever courses I want ie. Monday - Yoga, Tuesday - aerobics, etc...?or do I need to define just one? unsure.gif

At Aquavital where I also go, all courses are included in the monthly membership price. You can do the "Zirkeltraining" plus any of the courses offered e.g. Pilates, Yoga, Fat burner, aqua gym etc They have a small pool too, sauna, steam room all in the monthly price. The only thing which costs extra as far as I know is the massage chair (€2 for 15mins).

Aquavital also offers 10er cards- where you buy a card for a price (not sure as I am member) and you can attend classes then on the card.

Bidul,
M.I.S.S. (München Individuelles Sport Studio) supports what you are asking for: you pay a monthly fee and you can attend as many classes as you want - anytime, any day.
They also have a few dance aerobic classes - offered on multiple days. I don't remember the names of the classes.
They also have some REALLY REALLY good classes - combination of aerobics and strength training. One of the best/difficult classes I did.

I am sure other places also might offer similar stuff.

What I'd heard was M.I.S.S. is one of the best, but also a bit pricey!

Hope that helps.
Good luck & happy exercising smile.gif

Thank you everyone for your recommendations.

After having visited few gyms that offer fitness/ aerobics courses I would like to share with what I have discovered:

- All of them have a very similar programme, just use different names for a particular course
- All of them have a varied programme, each kind of course eg. Pilates, Dance Aerobic, Step Aerobic, Calorie Burner etc. usually twice a week
- Once you sign up (membership for at least a year required) you are allowed to attend any courses you wish any day you wish
- Price is pretty comparable (+ / - 5 euros), currently ca. 70euros for a 1-year contract
- You don't need to speak german to be able to imitate a trainer
- This is a real fun!

I signed up for INJOY, in Laim and I can recommend it as well! Most of the staff speak English and are really caring.
