I know this is a long, long shot (especially since i think i've met pretty much everyone here) but does anyone in Stuttgart actually like the alternative scene? Rock, Metal etc. I'm presuming no but i thought it was worth trying anyway!

At the Matahari (bar) in Stuttgart they play RocK on Thursdays, I heard. I wrote a bit on it here and here.

I don't know the alternative rock scene here, but I'm a music lover of all kinds, rock especially and no, I don't think you've met everyone here.

Hello, you could say I'm into the alternative scene, but more indie rock etc than metal or rock, my fave bands include okkervil river, arcade fire, brighteyes, interpol My boyfriend is more into metal his faves are Iron maiden, stratovarius , sonata arctica, gamma ray and Die Ärzte, his favourite band ever which is German though. So yes there are people in stuttgart who are into the alternative scene. Southern Germany apparently is the region of metal, one of the biggest metal labels is near by as well. My boyfriend knows quite alot about the scene here so if you every want to know more just message me.

punk metal hard rock and sometimes shitdisco on weekends(when there are no live bands playing), depends on the night. but the bands are always non-mainstream non-corporate rock...

LKA - longhorn stuttgart-wangen
kinda more rock oriented, but alot of metal too...

RockFabrik - ludwigsburg------all metal, all the time (the myriad genres of metal i mean... ;-P )

zwolfzehn - stuttgart mitte

SCHOCKEN- stuttgart mitte

SCHLESINGER- stuttgart mitte...not too often bands, but always good ones, and really kick ass food.

thats a few off the top of my head...

Thanks for the comphrehensive reply! Now It's just a matter of finding people to go with. It's hard enough finding people who want to go to nightclubs. Finding anyone who wants to go to a Rock/Metal club is something else entirely!

Anybody wants to join me on Saturday for the concert of Deep Purple?
