We've just found a great apartment in an area of Zehlendorf between Düppel and Schönow. It's huge, bright and affordable. We've lived in the Tiergarten area for a long time and don't really know much about Zehlendorf at all. We have a 3-year old son who has never lived in a quiet setting, so we thought that Zehlendorf could offer us some peace and quiet. BUT...it seems like life there is sort of dead. What do people in Zehlendorf do? Are there any funky cafes and shops, cool playgrounds, etc. We're worried that we will miss miss our nice foamy coffee beverages and the multi-cultural setting. The apartment isn't too far from the JFK school, so I thought that there must be some other English speaking families in the area, but it seems like there are a lot of old, cranky Germans there who do nothing but stay at home. Is there a

I've just secured a flat there as well. I certainly hope that it isn't full of boring people! Would be good to hear from other people who are in Berlin and can give an opinion...

Hello,
I teach a Familytime Kindermusik class in Zehlendorf on Tuesday afternoons. All the mums there speak English, and they are cool! You are welcome to come along to a class to see what you think. You can find information here www.kindermusik-berlin.de or send me a PM

I hope to hear from you soon
