The Highland Games are coming up next month. Makes for a fun day out, especially for families with kids. It will all take place at the Wagnershof, just south east of Ellwangen.
I've never been, but am toying with the idea of going this year. I expect it to be a bit small, since it is really only a one-day event. But the concert Saturday night with Saitenwynd sounds interesting.

Tossing the caber, bagpipes, and Celtic folk music
