Toytown vs. Rest of the World @ Biddy Early's

As you all know, Toytown's entry to the Biddy Early's Pub Quiz last Monday under the name "the Six Sodomites" convincingly thrashed the competition and won a bottle of the finest "Paddy's" Irish Whiskey, currently in the custody of an unnamed TTer. It was a famous victory (but 'twas a very wicked thing, said little Wilhelmine). In the hope of extending this nascent winning streak, or at least of streaking after drinking our nascent winnings, there will be another gathering at Biddy's tonight from 8pm for the quiz, which starts at nine. Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties, and so bear ourselves, that if Toytown lasts for a thousand years, men will still say, "This was not their finest hour".

That was quite a build up for the quiz, I feel like I should get my suit of armour out for this battle. But alas, it is back in Canada (darn!). But I will be there at 8 tonight, see ya!

Was thinking of doing an event for this tonight, so I hope you don't mind: I just copied the existing plan from to the Facebook group. Maybe we'll have a huge ultra-quiz team, but given the [piddly] advance notice, probably not so many people will see the invite in time. Seeya tonight!

hmmm not sure im liking this reputation im getting for knowing too much dodgy pop-pap. its a tough call knowing that bottles of whiskey have been the reward.
if there are more of six of us, we ll have to split into 2 teams. depending on the numbers i just thought of a few names in case the others were stuck to come up with something as classy as the six sodomites

I was there last night ... not sure who won though. I left right after I answered the question about what city the mouth of the Yarra was at -- and, of course, it is Melbourne! My home town! Woot! I met some of the Biddy's friends -- and a new rather cute one -- so, was not on the TT table, unfortunately. Just think, that would have been one extra question that you guys would have gotten right! ;-)

You can store the whiskey at my apartment next to the previous two tropheys.

Well, I finally tried the pub quiz on for size. It was my first time at such an event - had a lot of fun with you guys. Hope to do more of that sort of thing in future.

sadly enough, even with three teams we did not manage to win the bottle of whiskey, but at least some of us got some booze...and in answer to our darling beetle, you should know by now...shots are *always* worth it
