Ok, how about we organize a low contact co-ed soccer team? It seems like there is enough interest.
I just moved here and speak only a little German but I am happy to help out with the emails... Maybe someone else could help organize the fields/bring balls etc? I played on 2-4 teams in Seattle and am missing it sooooo much (not to mention the exercise!)
1. Please reply to this thread if you are interested in playing some sort of low contact soccer (football-whatever you want to call it)
2. we can discuss times and dates on the thread.
Obviously at first this is going to be casual and it will be sometime before we can field 2 full teams but this can still be fun with a minimal critical mass! Don't hesitate! Remember, we need both guys and girls!!!

i'd be in. this sort of thing is often attempted, with limited success. not trying to discourage. would love to see a regular gametime and field organised.
hasenheide park is quite big, where you can easily play, though no official pitches and no goals.

I would definitley be in! I love soccer but haven't really played in awhile, so it would be nice to play on a team. And also the excercise is a plus!

a low contact co-ed soccer team?
Nice idea, but pretty unrealistic in that "low contact" soccer is a pretty stupid, if not impossible and pointless idea, and sorry, but the guys will just ignore this anyway - even more so with the girls playing as they will need to show off.
Soccer is a contact sport, so just go for it and enjoy it. If you want "lo contact", go for netball or something like that.
Yeah screw the "low contact". Just no dirty tackles.
Once we have a team together, who will we play?
Anyone else interested?!

I am still interested and I have a few other people who contacted me personally not on this thread. So I think we have enough people. I just don't know how to get a field etc..does someone else want to pick up this rein? We should just set up a time and those who can make it are in.
As for the people "dissing the low contact" - why you be harshing our mellow?
I just think it is more fun to play when everyone isn't scared of getting killed! I don't mind contact. I agree that it would be difficult to play with no contact which is why I wrote "low contact." There are plenty of other threads for football on this board for those of you who can't or don't want to play "skillfully" (of course may I remind you those are minus ladies...) Besides, I have played on plenty of co-ed teams with low contact soccer and I don't know what netball is much less have a desire to play it.
Let's get this thing started!

I would be very much into that, although an inside location will have to be found for the winter... Unless you're
Reinhold Messner or something...
Oh and yes, I'm new here, my name is Hans, I've lived in the US for 5 years and I think it's safe to say that my English is up to par...

I'm interested. I'm pretty terrible, but I like to play. Unfortunately I can't really contribute any knowledge of places to play right now, seeing as I just moved here from the US last week. And I work during the week so Saturday or Sunday during afternoons are the best for me.

does anyone want to play tonight around 6? We can meet at Mauer park in prenzlauer berg and play for a couple of hours or so. its such a nice day, maybe one of the last!
if you are interested, send me a message or email. If even a couple of people respond we can go kick around. (email is tess.clancy@gmail.com). Also if you have a ball that would be great. I have one but its really flat.

I'm a complete beginner when it comes to soccer, but I learn fast, and I'm really enthusiastic.
Tmaureen - any chance of soccer in the next few weeks, or is that it for the winter?
Julianfb - is it just guys, or open for girls too, and is it only Saturdays?
