Police are asking for help in catching the skateboarder in the following video.
From the
Telegraph:
A man was filmed riding a skateboard down a steep stretch German motorway at 100 km/h, well above the speed limit of 80km/h. Police believe the man, who raced down the Ulm-Stuttgart motorway for two miles before he stopped and fled, to be a professional stuntman. The guy gets the brass balls of the year award from me!
See the YouTube video:
Autobahn skaterOh yeah, and they want to put him in the hole for one year.

A skateboarder is on the run (better; on the roll) - after breaking the speedlimit on the Ulm-Stuttgart Autobahn:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/...peed-limit.html.
Aside from the madness of it all, what struck me about the video footage was the complete lack of traffic all around. We don't see him being tailed or overtaken by any impatient Mercedes or Audifahrer or held up by Czech lorries crawling along the fast lane. Come to that, there appear to be no other motorists far and wide.
If only commuting up the A9 were such a breeze too!

All the traffic was held up by the cars blocking for this
guy thus allowing your man to skate completely unnoticed.

And should all copies ever be removed from YouTube, here's
another copy on Liveleak.

It made it's way onto MSN.com today.
Why remove the video? If you're going to start removing video's of people doing stupid or illegal things you'll be there all day.

Seems harsh.. what would a car driver going 20kmph above the (fairly slow-sounding) limit on the Autobahn get?

For interfering with traffic.

Doesn't sound like the skater had any traffic to contend with, MLD.

Doesn't the law say that for any vehicle to be allowed on the Autobahn they have to do a min of 50kph?
If the skater was doing that or more then he's not interfering with traffic. Although they'll prob. nail'em for
something else..

Nope. The law is to do with engine size otherwise you would have all manner of stupid non-motorized contraptions to deal with on a daily basis

There is a 50mph (capacity) law in the UK though. And a 50cc min capacity on mopeds law. And no L plates. If you have a great big slow tractor in Germany, that can go on the Autobahn then?
In Germany the law is based on speed, any vehicle on the Autobahn has to be capable of 60 Kph, plus have Tüv certification as a Kraftfahrzeug and insurance, as well as be driven by a somebody with a valid licence.
So they can get him for a number of infringements, if they get him.

According to the gossip on the Zoodeutsche it is fairly common knowledge who it is so the police don#t need any "help".

65 actually, in order to specifically exclude ex-GDR-licensed motorscooters with a 60 km/h limit.

Tsk...Tsk... a little behind the times, eh? There's a brand new minimum just set earlier this year. Of course, I believe everything I read online
UnNews:Autobahn minimum speed expected to riseQUOTE
15 March 2007
AUTOBAHN, Germany -- On the Autobahn, the fastest highway in the world, has recently upped its minimum speed to 1000mph in order to stay competitive with the other highway systems throughout the world. It is seen as a surprise to all the drivers on the Autobahn, who were all pulled over by German cops and fined several 100 Euros, and are expected to switch over to multi-million dollar supersonic fighter planes.
