Gay Sunday in the Bräurosl Oktoberfest tent

8am 21.Sep.2008 - going for a cheeky stiff one

MonksTown
Gonna be there at 8 in the morning on the 21st with the crew.
Anyone else up fo it?
HellesAngel
I walked past this event last year and the dress code seemed to be a cross between a gay twist to Hell's Angels biker leather and lederhosen, and there were many who seemed to be having fun round the back of the tent... I'm not gay but it looked like an entertaining day out, certainly some good photo ops.
sarabyrd
Does this invitation include non-gays?
Bell the cat
Was there last year and really enjoyed it. Will be going this year from 8am with Peter and a visiting Franciscan monk

Any non gays that can sing the Kylie remix of "Er Gehört zu Mir" are welcome. smile.gif

Anyone can walk in a Wies'n tent and get a non reserved seat at any time.
On Gay Sunday though you are unlikely to be able to get in the Bräurosl after 9 AM if you haven't already organised a package.
Bell the cat
there were quite a few straight TTers who joined me there last year.

TBH, it is not an OFFICIAL gay event though the Bräurösl appear to be happy after 20 odd years for gay people to see it that way. Half the tent is actually reserved for people who have participated in the Trachtenumzug anyway on Gay Sunday and I would guess that most of them are straight.

If you had already organised a package could you not stay at home and enjoy it?
MonksTown
Sorry to correct you BTC but "Gay Sunday" IS an officially gay event.
The name is a registered trade mark of MLC eV and they have reserved one balcony.
The Munich Bears Club also has several boxes reserved and for both Vereine, it's a publicised event.

In the public, non reserved areas, the tent is open to ANYONE.
It is worth noting though that a couple of years ago the Bräurosl cancelled the reservations of the trachtler groups...

There's no organising going on here, just asking who is going to this event.

@ Yeti, that's the Wies'n effect though innit, whatever kind of package you have, five Mass later you want more.

Space isn't allowed to come.
Yeti
@Monkstown

No truer word sir.
Bell the cat
The MLC event is official and publicisied. But hardly any gay people are MLC members. For most of us, gay sunday means the public areas and that is not official.
Owain Glyndwr
semantics, BTC. Careful now, you don't want me to become an anti-semanticist, do you?

But only most of them, don't forget the Schwulplattler!
Oma Stelzbok
OOooOoOohhhhh, so tempting. I have an exam the next day though sad.gif

Last year was AWESOME. I got in on my own. Some nice guy that worked for the tent saw me by my lonesome and escorted me in. wub.gif

Might make a return bout this year but this event definitely gets my vote!
Zef
Ah yes OS, the old relying on the kindness of strangers approach - it worked better for me about a decade ago (or so) wink.gif

I am looking to buy two tickets to this tent on Sunday, anyone have two spares. If I dont get a ticket and I get in at 8:00 am what exactly do we do, do we stand all day?

thanks for any info?
Bell the cat
if you get there at 8 you do not need a ticket. But be prepared to run for it to bag a table and then sit for an hour before they start serving food and another hour before the bier. I did that last year and plan to do the same this year again. Anyone wanting to join me, Peter and a monk called Kentigern on a mad rush for a Bräurösl table at 8am on Gay Sunday just PM me.
MonksTown
I hope Lady Mayoress Chrstina turns up earlier this year cos I was wankered by the time she turned up last year and couldn't understand her speach at all.

It depends how important it is is to you to have YOUR table anyway.
Getting IN the tent is the big issue, then I like to jngle and mingle.
Zef
I'll look for you guys there. Will head over in the a.m. with hubby in toe and visiting guests - one true American and another one who speaks funny - he may be from the Empire.
Owain Glyndwr
speaks funny and is from the Empire. mmmm who could that be?

MonksTown
Think you dicovered new gay fetish OG.

There's something in it for everyone, butch stormtroopers in uniform, Like Skywalker for the "boy next door" crew, C3PO for the cyber generation,
the cuddly furry Ewoks andDarth Vader as the ultimate in dark SM. cool.gif
gregh
I'll probably see you guys there, but probably not in leather or lederhosen. I'd ask if some people wear lederhosen made out of leather, but I don't think I want to find out.

blink.gif what the hell else are lederhosen supposed to be made of?
MadAxeMurderer
Will it be all gay men, or are lesbians turning up also?
Kommentarlos
I am aware of some gap lappers in attendance smile.gif
Munichbeerboy
I am sure carpet munchers will be hanging around too. The guys in there are gentlemen,,, as I hear they are eager to push your stool in for ya..
MonksTown
oh, my sides.

Certainly will be some girls who like girls cos I'm going with 2 lasses a 8AM.
Town is chockers with lads over for the fest, charming friend of BtCs I met last night at "Muttis" and there was a strapping lad from Manchester later on in the KuhBar as well....
Zef
Was there. So much beer, so many men, so much lederhosen (and fairly sure it was all made of leather - at least the ones that I gnawed on). Any interest to get a Fischer Vroni group toether?
giulietta
was there, though it took a good hour of waiting by the door to get in. Speaking of lesbians, the guys I made friends with in the line told me that while there ARE lesbians in Munich, the scene is kind of hard to find. I figured people here might know where I could start...
pootle
had a great time at braurösl yesterday. loads of people of beer, good friends to chat with etc. security werent been too much of an arse either. Christian Ude got a massive welcome when he turned up. Left the tent around 8ish I think, had some coffee and waffles at the stand by the UBahn and then out for local beers...

heard some great stories from various people over the weekend smile.gif
MonksTown
<covers head> 'nuff said.
pootle
*cough* wink.gif
Bell the cat
what happened then?

Peter, Kentigern and I had a super time! Though Kentigern was keen to meet you again MT ;-)

The part of the tent we were in seemed to be almost totally lesbian (except for us of course). We got there at 8am and after 4 Maß we weaved our way out to have a laugh at the Teufelsrad before heading back to our flat and watching "Beaches" while I snored on the sofa

.... loads of people of beer ...

I know you probably left out a comma but that is a cool expression, especially at this time of the year.
MonksTown
I thought he was a nice guy too BtC, is he on any web platforms I might know...? Is he going to visit Munich again? cool.gif
I did try and find you but it was just chockers.
Bell the cat
he will likely be back next . Not on any web platforms I'm afraid
