Ultimate Frisbee - Wednesdays and Sundays

What is Martinimarkt!? This sounds like the holiday made for me.

It's a celebration in Germany set up when the farms had workers that were paid, but they worked seven days a week and never had a chance to spend their earnings...as such this day was set aside that they could go shopping for the year. A lot of smaller towns have incredible fairs and celebrations..not so much here as in the Schwarzwald. Plus all the children will go along the streets with candles singing songs for St. Martins day. Usually Germans eat goose twice a year, once on Christmas and the other on St. Martins' day.

ULTIMATE FRISBEE AND DISC GOLF!?!?!!?!!! Do you play on the weekends? Is there a proper disc golf course HERE??? I'm so excited!!! My husband played Ultimate Frisbee for over 10 years, his team was even number 2 in the US one year. Now he is a SUIT and does not have time for any fun except on the weekends. However I do, in the day time, before 3:00. I would love to meet up with some people for Disc Golf.

That's the rub, isn't it? You're in the minority if you have time during the week, before 3:00. Good luck finding others available at that time.

There's a disc golf thread as well, although most of the ultimate players play disc golf and vice versa.
Your best chance will be on the weekends - usually there's an ultimate game or a disc golf game/daytrip (or both) planned.
Events are always suggested, confirmed etc. in the relevant thread a few days in advance...

Xena- i suck majorly at disc golf, but i think it's great fun! so if you ever are up for it let me know! if i have a few days notice then i can make myself free for a few hours during the day (especially if it's b/f 1 or 2

Haynous, is Wed 16th a definite go for da ribs? If so I will plan a kicker night for the next day, Thursday. In that vein, anyone who plays kicker (a.k.a. Tischfußball) let me know if you want to join.

I haven't played in years but I'm always up for a game. Well actually right now is not a good time, as I am in the process of moving from the Boonies to Pasing, packing, looking for movers, shopping for Christmas, looking for extra babysiters and the list goes on. However I am very excited that these sports are here and there is someone able to play in the day time and the weekends.

I will keep watching posts here and if I lose my mind with all of this and need a release, you might see me sooner than later. Thanks to you and JayHay for the info. Kind Regards Xena

I'm sure there'll be at least a few people down to play on Sunday, we can do a roll call on Sunday morning. I'll probably be there at least.

New Sunday playing time is 2 PM in case anyone didn't catch that already, always at the Gisellastr location during the fall/winter months.

If I'm not in Stuttgart I'll be there on Sunday (but I guess that really doesn't help anyone until I find out whether I'm gonna be in Stuttgart, does it )

For next Wednesday: so far I have one51, brokenm, eriiki tubbs, jayhay (maybe … we’ll plan for you bull’s-eye Jay), benpanter, newfoundlander, me, Marie and Grace. That's 9 and maybe we can pick up a couple of people between now and Monday.

Oh - the only non-meat meal I've had there are the baked potatoes - which were large and yummie. (was just looking at their website. The potatoe and the salad may be all they have ... is that okay?)

If we are going to go we will definately need to reserve space. For that I need to pick a day and time. I was thinking next week on Wednesday (Nov.16) at 6:30 pm. How does that sound?

About playing Sunday: I am guessing with the temoerature, snow, and mud it may not happen. If anyone is up for it post here! And, don't go showing up there without checking here first.

I think that 0 degrees is a bit cool for me. Not as far as being outside, but as far as the fingers working well enough to chuck a disc. And I'm a bit hung over from several Newkies, some vodka, and a Weissbier last night

Wednesday is a possibility... I may meet a friend at Leo's Lounge, a short walk from Rosenheimer Platz. He wants to go since they have specials on Wed, I think it was 3.50 Caipi's and 4eur hamburgers or something like that. The food is pretty good from what I've had. And shots of Ramazotti or Jaegermeister are always 1 euro.

I'd be up for it next week as well, tonight I need to recover from the Trivia night (which was on Monday) and prepare for tomorrow evening.
