portable hole... I actually learned that it's called a "pole hole" from a German website a few months back.

I'm game.

The wife and I are planning to go tomorrow -- with our kiddo in tow as long as he agrees. We're trying to recruit a friend as well, not sure if he'll be able to make it yet.

hmm... if all these kids are going i'm tempted to drag my 2 kids (not MY kids, but the 2 girls i work with)
I'll be there plus one (she's having trouble posting)... really looking forward to the drinks afterwards
@sob- is it abby that's going w/ you? i need to meet this chica!

@mere - ok, don't want to throw you off too much, but "kids" was probably the wrong word. Our "kiddo" is 8 weeks old and mybutterly's is 9 weeks. So unless you throw the frisbee right to them, they are pretty useless as teammates. They try hard and have positive attitudes though! And they're always leading the charge to take a nap/pass out after a beer at the Chinese Tower!
no worries- i knew yours was a newborn.
and i know we won't be making it and the kids i'd have w/ me i know would be useless as teammates too!
i'm glad you're getting them ready for frisbee and beergardens at a young age!

I'll be there tomorrow with:
- E. Tubbs Esq.
- Thomas the genius carpenter (hopefully)
- his two sons (Philip and Lars)
- 1 family of bright yellow frisbee cones
- 1 set of (as yet) unbroken ribs

Ooooh, we get bright yellow cones this year? So fancy!
Weather seems to be holding so I will be there. Can't wait to meet BabyJarvii and BabyButterfly!
BTW, probably not bringing the "pole hole" anymore. DW got stuck working all day/night, so won't be able to make it, and I hate to break in his brand new toy without him.

Hopefully next time.

Yeup - Jay's discovery indicates no rain for the rest of the afternoon, although it might be a touch overcast. Perfect conditions...
http://www.wetteronline.de/daten/radar/dwdd/vie.gifJust a reminder, contrary to what it says in the first post, we'll be playing at
2pm today, at the Giselestrasse venue.
If you need a bit of a reminder on how to throw a frisbee, or you're an absolute beginner, it's much easier if you can arrive promptly at 2pm. Gives us lots of time to practise so you can really enjoy the game afterwards.

Its 2:40 and the little guy is still asleep, UGH! I wanna get there and play, but have you ever heard the saying, "don't wake a sleepinng baby"...? whatever should I do?
i'm sorry mybutterfly!
if it helps i'm stuck at home w/ half the neighborhoods children playing over here! so i sympathize greatly w/ you!

Great game today guys - let's try and keep this impetus going for the rest of the summer! Anyway... I've been told that I spell it wrong, in fact the place we play is
Giselastrasse with an a rather than an e... We should try to remember that from here on in. Thanks Gen.
I'll not be about on Wednesday, but if you guys want to play then be my guest. I nominate jayhay to organise!

I'll be in Garmisch during the day on Wednesday and probably won't make it back to play by 6pm. Currently the weather for this week is looking horrible anyway, but we can have a virtual show of hands on Tuesday to see who's interested in a game or throwaround on Wednesday.
Well played today everyone, btw

We had a great time today! Was great to get back out playing after almost a year away. We're hoping to be regulars at the Sunday games this year. Can't wait to get in some frisbee golf soon too!
Wish I could get out more on sundays... I'm going to try and work on it... had a blast today, really gave me a kick in the ass to get back in shape!

Yep, great game... I will either be there next Sunday, or the following Wednesday.
Mmm, next time I will have to have a Starkbier at the Turm, if I can just drink a little less on the preceding days of the weekend ;-)

Hi, I would really like to try this out but can't even remember the last time I threw a frisbee. Are beginning beginners also welcome?? If so, I will join you on Sunday.

Apr 5 2006, 5:43 pm
Hey bubble toes - beginning beginners are most welcome! If you get there at 2 PM on Sunday, we'll get you back in the groove again with the collective warm up circle we always start with before gametime.
Weather and temps for Sunday look good, so it's gonna take us a snowstorm to hold us back... and like that's gonna happen at this time of year, right?
@bubble toes- i keep saying i'm going to show up to a game, but never do (b/c i'm stuck working or something) so... i'm going to try to go sun... (really i am going to TRY) so anyway- bubbletoes... i suck at frisbee and cannot throw to save my life so i'm sure you're a pro compared to me!

(i like your name btw)

Is the game on Sunday at 4pm or 2pm? And is it at Giselastrasse? Just checking in the case that I can make it ... :-)

If you guys are playing at 2pm, come along to where we play touch rugby, then you can take over the field we have marked out, since we usually finish about that time. Much easier than trying to fight for space with all the sunbathers.

Apr 8 2006, 9:07 am
Yeup - cheers for that OG. We managed to do just that last weekend.
So... to anyone who is interested, we'll be playing at the Giselastrasse venue (map in the first post of this thread) at 2pm on Sunday. Beginners very welcome, and we'll show you all you need to know to get involved.
NB: The weather is set to be good, and this means there will be lots of sun bathers, football players, curlers etc competing for space. If we can arrive at 1:50, we have a good chance of getting the touch player's spot when they leave. To 'occupy' that area we need the cones and, more importantly, people to move on as soon as the touch players leave. This won't be possible if we do the usual arriving in dribs and drabs at 2:15...

I'll be there before 2, no problems - I can't wait!
I'll try and think to bring some food for afterwards as well this time, I'm sick of beer garden fries and giant pretzels.
@ Lars - it will be good to see you again, looking forward to it!

everybodies favourite weather website tomorrow afternoon will be around 13 degrees, cloudy but with no chance of rain. Game on. I bought myself some shoes with plastic studs this afternoon, can't wait to try them out ...

Apr 9 2006, 11:40 am
It's been raining pretty steadily all morning... and Helen doesn't have decent trainers with her... and it shows no sign of stopping... so we might not. If the rain stops in the next 20 minutes decision might change!
