Doesnt look like rain will be an issue.. sun's shining and clouds are nearly gone. Surprisingly it's turned into quite a nice day, though I'm not going to make it out myself.. See you all sunday, and brain: go easy at the chinese tower!

That's a good one. Brokenm just needs another 12 inches in his vertical leap, and it's a score!

Hey, the shots looked pretty damn good to me

Maybe a bit blurry on a few but that just shows how FAST we are, haha. As for the focal length, I think that zoom range is great for sports. The wide-angle shots would probably be pretty confusing, and the best shots are the close-ups with everyone reaching skyward for the disc!
I guess the lens to use depends on the day. Sunday at 2 on a sunny day I'd go for a big zoom; but evening maybe a wider aperture.

oh man. paddies in play. may have to fly in for that. you do know they wait until after the game to drink the beer, right?
Yeti
May 26 2006, 3:44 pm
Actually BB the offical term is "paddies playing with plates" and no it's probably not worth flying in for.
What's this beer thing everybody talks about ?
camman
May 27 2006, 8:41 am
The "beer thing" is a local malt based drink that comes in large volumes and has a variety of effects on the mind and body. Usually the Frisbee group quenches thirst after 1.5 - 2 hours of playing with a sampling of this drink (which incidently was popular with monks over 500 years ago - although I don't know if they played frisbee too) Sometimes, individuals supplement the available nourishment with items they bring along. - O'batza, Brez'n, and any other that has a strangly placed apostrophe.
The best location for consumption is usually the "beer garden" that is most proximate. - Relax though you don't have to bring your pruning shears and trowel.

At the moment we seem to be under a bit of a deluge, but fear ye not! I've had a look at the radar and I'm hopeful that it will clear by 2pm, giving us a nice soft pitch to play on. More news as it happens...

Heh... The really nasty purple bit in the middle passed overhead at 11:00, and it does seem to be lightening off. If it continues at the same speeed it should be clear in a couple of hours... maybe...

So did anyone play today? I was busy prepping my flat for a visit from the parental units. Guess if they fly several thousand miles to see me the place should be clean.
Might make it out two Wednesdays from now. Unfortunately that's the soonest. By the way I really felt like Happy Gilmore at Weilheim this past Thursday. I kept overthrowing the holes from the tee, and then missing every putt that was over one meter. Have to say, the Beast disc rocks!
