Ultimate Frisbee - Wednesdays and Sundays

The forecast looks excellent for tomorrow. Anyone out there interested in an impromptu game in the afternoon?

I know two people and a pooch that would love to join in tomorrow, what time are we talking? Anyone else interested?

Me. I'll be in the Garten and willing to throw the frisbee, at least. It'd be nice to meet up a bit earlier, and then go join Sarabyrd's picnic at the Chinese Tower afterwards.

I'm thinking 14:00 would be nice. Then a nice trip to the beer garden would be in order. Let's try and get 8 people to commit so we can at least have a 4 on 4.

Well, on top of having shreaded knees from that fabulous game yesterday, I sprained my ankle last night. I guess skate boarding with an ice cream cone in flip flops in the middle of the Turken str is not the coolest idea. I blame Muffin personally. Anyway, it's not so bad, but i think i'll be out until at least Wednesday...Happy Easter! and enjoy yourselves tomorrow!! M

Awesome game, even if it was a little shorthanded. We at least had 5 on 5 for a while!

QUESTION: did anyone see a little magnetic clip on sunglasses? I think they fell off my hat when I tossed it on my bag in the middle of the game. I don't wanna have to trek up to the park before work in the morning but i might do it if no one picked 'em up! :-)

It's a small magnetic clippy thing, same size and shape as my glasses that I was wearing. Probably right by the trees where all our bags were standing.

I don't think it would be very useful to someone who didn't have the exact same shape and brand glasses. Otherwise the magnets wouldn't line up, and the lenses are pretty tiny (probably smaller than 95% of glasses).

But maybe I am lucky and someone else from Ultimate picked them up and didn't post yet?

Holy cow, talk about lucky... my prime spectacle accessoire (brown lens, dirt-colored) was hiding on a patch of dirt, no contrasty grass around to allow anyone to see it but me (who knew exactly where my bag was sitting). AND no one stepped on it! Praise Jeebus!

Ultimate frisbie is like white rap...it sucks! I believe Mr Job and my good self are planning to come down and cheer you lot on. However, given the night we had last night, I wouldn't count on us being too entertaining.

shame you guys play right after we have finshed playing touch rugby. one of these days I'd like to join in, but after 3 hours playing in the sun, the beer garden is calling too loudly to ignore. btw, did you guys have any more problems with those dicks playing soccer who wanted to take over our field (even though we were still playing)? or did you reach an amicable settlement about who was allowed to play where? From what I understand, if you don't play football in this country you are a second class, nay third class, citizen.

We shortened the pitch by at least 10 meters once we took over, so they had nothing to complain about. Those guys are total losers...

What time is the game this Wednesday?

We usually play on Wednesday's at 18:00. Though the forecast isn't looking so hot right now.

Jeannie and I will be there at 18:00 on Wednesday.

I'll be there this Wednesday as well. This time I won't jet off so fast either. I'll be good for at least a couple beers after. (a.k.a. Justin, bald guy with sunglasses)

We spoke to the football guys as we were setting up on Sunday and they had calmed down a bit by then. If the weather stays as good as it has been, I would suggest a move to Dietlindenstr. for the Sunday games as soon as next week. This past Sunday it was almost impossible to avoid having people sunbathe in the endzones. However: one of the new players mentioned to me that there was another frisbee group playing at the Dietlindenstr. location.

I think we need to throw down with either the Soccer-f*heads or the Frisbee players at Dietlindenstr. (j/k). Maybe we could move the time as well, as I remember we usually do 4pm later in the summer once it starts getting super-hot. That would avoid the conflict w/ the other Frisbee players at Dietlindenstr (even if we couldn't take over the rugby pitch and watch weird people wander across the field).
