Arse, I won't be able to make it tonight.
My mum's bus to the airport leaves right in the middle of the frisbee session.
Hope you guys have a good game and that nobody melts in this sun.
Ben, can you bring the book on Sunday?
Yesterday I found an online sports shop that sells pitch markers (little plastic cones)
They're only 6EURO for 6 cones. What do you guys think -
Anyone willing to chip in a Euro?
They also have bright orange bibs to wear over your t-shirt which cost 2 EURO each.
It would make the dark/light t-shirt thing easier and we'd only need 8-10.

I will chip in for two euros!

It would make the dark/light t-shirt thing easier and we'd only need 8-10. I would even chip in 2EUR towards 12 cones so that 2 people could have them (in case Ben is ever on vacation...). With 8 cones, you could have a complete end zone with back boundaries... but maybe we don't have space for that, heh.
Orange bibs... not sure how I feel 'bout that... depends how they look.

Although I'm happy to chip in a couple of E's for cones, I don't actually see that we need them. There has never been a shortage of bags/jumpers for corner markers -- and I certainly don't need any more to carry in from Garching! If someone else wants to get them and bring them every session fair enough, but I can't help but think that we are addressing a problem we don't have.
If we were a super rigid team wrt endzones and edges we should go the whole hog and get the touch rugby style movable lines, but I don't really want to get that technical... there are other frisbee sides in Munich that play to that extreme. I just want to run around and have fun.

Jul 27 2005, 4:16 pm
I didn't suggest marker cones to address a problem. Someone mentioned cones to me last week and I though it was a good idea.
I think it would be useful to have the sidelines marked out as well as the end posts, and marker cones are very visible.
With such a long playing area it sometimes gets confusing (especially since we do run around like loonies, as eriiki tubbs so aptly pointed out).
It would also be clearer for other people in the park where we are playing (like stray dogs marking our their turf by peeing on trees).
I'd be happy to bring them along whenever I'm there. Otherwise I can pass them to someone who's sure they'll be at the next meet.

Why don't we just do that at all four corners?
P.S. Be at the game shortly!

cones are nice - but I agree with Ben - not really necessary. I don't think they'll stop the few strangers who stray across our playing area. I'm willing to chip in a couple euros for them, though.
Ben's main point though is also mine - I'm here to hang out with you guys and have fun!

Great game yesterday, although incredibly exhausting! Great time at the Chinesischer Turm afterwards as well!
I posted this in the TT Events forum, but for those of you that don't venture outside of the Ultimate thread, I'm having a
leaving do at
The Arc on Saturday, from about 7pm on. I'll obviously be at Ultimate Sunday and Wednesday as well, so it's definitely not the last time I'll be around.

The game on
Sunday will be at the
Dietlindenstrasse venue at
4pm. Just in case you don't know where to go, presuming you're coming from town cross the mahusive road that seperates North and South just at the back of
Seehaus by going underneath -
not the footbridge which goes over - then walk along the road that comes off to the right (well, goes straight on North really. When you see the sign for Hirschau look on the right for a kiosk. We play in the field next to that kiosk.
Afterwards we though we might do a bit of picnic action - either at the place where we play or over at
Hirschau to say goodbye to jip, Abs and BSF. If you fancy doing this, post and say what you might bring... if nobody fancies bringing anything (understandable in this heat!) we can just do the usual food at Hirschau...

Just a quick last note before I leave, I thought the UF thread would be the most fitting place for my last post while in Munich.
Thanks to all who I have both competed with and against. I can honestly say that my time here in Munich could not have been as much (wicked!) fun without you all and the great games we've played. Rain or shine, I knew I would have some friends to chat with and play a game of Ultimate. I will definitely miss chatting with you all during and after the games as well. The memory of sitting down next to people from all over the world and just having a laugh and having some fun will stick with me forever, and is a memory I am proud to have.
Thanks for the great exercise, fun games, and great great memories and times!

JP, it was great having you play with us over these last few months.
Take care, have a good flight back and come and visit us if/when you're back in Munich!
I agree, yesterday's game was really fun. I'm already counting the hours/days until Wednesday
If the weather is good next Sunday, I'll follow Lars' lead and be the one to bring an enormous bag of beer.
If was fun sitting around the pitch after the game and drinking a helles.
What a fantastic ultimate ultimate game! Despite the many who had wicked bad hangovers, it was of course fun (we missed you Izabella but certainly understand)! I will post the pics soon.
I'm sure gonna miss y'all. Thanks for the fun times this summer, and the great Muenchen memories!

You could always use B, as an incentive to come out Wednesday

I just ran 7 or 8 miles, so should be pretty well ready for a killer game by then.
Hope to see ya there... if not, we'll talk later anyway 'bout longer freefalls than the 0.5s diving for the disc.

I just wanted to say to everyone that played today:
Great game!
@ CammanThe two websites I mentioned for lift-sharing were:
www.mitfahrgelegenheit.de (free to use)
www.mitfahrzentrale.de
@ Ifgani (the person who asked me about buying a frisbee)The last time I bought the discs from
this onlineshop. We placed a large order and got the discs for 11,50EUR each.
Agreed, great game today. Well matched teams made it all the better...
And, somehow the rain managed to completely miss us, except for about 1 minute of minor drizzle. Quite lucky, considering the abysmal forecast.
