Don't have milk. Milk dries your throat out.

Thought I'd successfully dodged the bullet this year but nope.

Have my first earache since I was a child I think.
UA, I don't know what kind of milk you been drinkin, but I've never heard of it drying the throat, just the opposite.
still, if you recommend against me cutting my whisky with milk I suppose I can be a good girl and comply...

Is the warning not to drink milk when you have a cold an old doctor's tale? Yes and no. Some people do make more mucus when they drink milk, and any high- fat food may produce a sensation of thicker secretions in the back of the throat. Yet, the mucus-producers are probably those that are allergic to milk. Separating out milk-allergic persons, research fails to show any correlation between drinking milk and mucus production during a cold. In conclusion, you need extra fluids during a cold, anyway, so if you're not allergic it's okay to drink a few glasses of lowfat milk.
Yeah people always told me that too...but I love milk when I am sick...I find it very hard to drink water (even though it is good for you)...it just doesn't soothe me like a nice glass of milk.
Sorry it got you BB...sucks

Our entire household and friends (15 in all), except for myself(although i got food poisoning), has gotten sick. Most of our friends are visiting from out of town, so I am busy nursing them all back to health.

I thought i was sick because the 6 yearold i take care of was coughing in my face... but I was perfectly healthy the first Sunday of Oktoberfest and got sick soon after. Hmm. Well wherever i got it from it's horrible. My sinuses are so screwed up my face is pulsing and hurting and nothing i do makes it stop.

We have about 9 in our group with the crud- sore throat, stuffy nose, exploding head! On the plane ride home, I couldn't decide whether it was the hangover or the flu, so I had a (ok few) bloody mary and I felt much better, but still had that flu thing. Uggg. Lasted about 5 days- dosed out on Nyquil, Irish Mist, and Tylanol and now I'm back to 100%. Good luck everyone!
I do however still have a perfect mug ring black and blue mark on my buttocks from someone falling into me and I fell perfectly on my mug of beer. Not a drop spilt, but I have an incredible bruise!!!

Still feeling ok, but my eyes are burning a bit and my skin is appalling.

I started with a cold last night. Not bad enough yet to warrant staying home but it doesn't stop my whining about it to ER

Hey, she's been ill and afflicted with parents, go easy on her.
Our whole office is suffering from this bug in one way or the other. My eyes itch and I have a chesty cough.
Just come home with a fever after a week of fighting it. Bad and guilty feeling I gave Leeza it as well as she's sick.
