We had a girl playing for a while but she hasn't been for some time. She seemed to be enjoying herself but may have decided not to return after playing against certain male ruffians. You should be particularly watchful of a certain unforgiving player from a place to the north of England...! His identity will become clear to you should you ever join in!!

I quite like the idea of gringas on the turf. It would be such a nicer place to play football in, lesser expletives,polite gestures, everyone more than willing to substitute when they see a gringa waiting. DJ Jazzy, you have my vote and one from the "unfriendly" player you allude to.

He is only too shy to say it on the forum but has infact asked the rest of us to approve.

Robinn, not meaning to discourage you from joining this rabble or anything, but you might also be interested in the girls football discussion. I'm not sure whether that group actually managed to get together for games or not, but you could try posting up a message there.

There was also a Girls five-a-side football group two years ago, but it appears to have stopped now.

I am the said arsehole who has an objection to girls playing. Not with girls playing football in general, just playing with guys.

I don't care what folk say, it does make the game less enjoyable, when there is one player on the field who everyone feels tha need to tip toe round.

The consensus would seem to be: gringas are welcome as long as they're willing to get the same treatment as everyone else. Namely, being shoved into the hoardings by Mr JOB, being barged to the ground by a Man City fan (on a regular basis), having a sex-crazed Indian chap chase you round wearing his infamous red shoes and having to put up with a red-haired gentleman try and perform a little trick he saw on telly - only badly, again and again. If you can cope with all that, you're in!!

Though there is an up side to it all.

There is a guy there who you can nut-meg for fun!!!
