Hi,
Just a short note to confirm my interest in a game of footy. We don't seem to be getting very far here though at the moment. Perhaps we should suggest a day to play on and get people to commit to it otherwise I don't think it's gonna happen. What do you all reckon?
You can either put a posting on here or e-mail me direct.
Cheers,
Andy

I know this
has been mentioned before but this time we have a ready made place for a bit of five a side footie, in one of the ice rinks in the
Olympiapark there are four courts for hire so is anyone up for a game?? We can play either after work one night or during the weekend. I would prefer after work but not available until the week of the 16th August, but obviously that doesn't stop anyone else from organising something beforehand...
Extra info can be found in the link below, cost will be €4 per person for nights or weekends.

Tench,
Its OK I have a spare pair of ice skates you can borrow for the football if you want???
Oh damn, silly me it seems the football courts aren't played on the actual ice ring but on some sort of artifical surface. Would you adam and eve it!!!
Probably something to do with not puncturing the ball whilst wearing ice skates I reckon...

That is an exact take on what the touch rugby girl supporters do! But if you can get away from your "taxing" job

I am out with Pascoe tomorrow on his B/day night, I will ask him when he is booking it. We can sort the rest then once we have a date, looks like no problem getting numbers.
NOTE - Given that my ankle is STILL swolen as hell from weekend, I'm off to find a pair of shinpads cos Jimbo's a dirty git

Five-a-Side Football: every Wednesday, 7-8pm, at the:
Socca 5 Olympia HallDirections: Get out of the U3 at
Olympiapark and head towards the Stadium, it's signposted. It's also right next door to the mini golf place.
Team: Socca 5 takes advance block bookings for a few months in advance. The TT group has such a block booking for which 10 people have paid up already. If you're not one of the "Chosen Ten" but you'd like to join the group, then each week you need to find a space left vacant by one of those 10.
Every Sunday at midnight all replies to this post are automatically moved to the 5-a-side chat archive

@Tench are you in touch with Pascoe at the minute? He gets back on Sunday afternoon, so get him down to play.
Edit - If it comes down to it, we can just drag a couple of kids off the park and get them to make up the numbers.
So this is not cancelled.

If anyone else wants to join, theres still room for a couple more

Sunday was good. Thanks to all that turned out in the end, a couple couldnt make it for good reason, the good thing is that there is always a few spectators around who will want to play a game.
NOTE - Next time the volunteer spectator goes on my team, for some reason the 2 that played were unusually good.
So should anyone want to take this on, here is the booking page -
Socca 5 booking formYou get an email to confirm your booking and you dont have to pay until you get there.
To find the place is easy, once you get off the U-Bahn at Olympiazentrum, head out towards the stadium and you will see the place signposted. Plus if you know where the mini golf is here, its right next door to there.
This place is only going to be around for a few more months, then the ice skating rink will come back.

Thank you for arranging the 5-a-side. It is strange to play indoor football with squared corners (I guess all corners should be square according to my High School Geometry techer), but it was a good workout. It is also a bit odd that indoor facilities that nice are not available in the winter. Are there other locations with similar surfaces for winter training?
Please let me know if you ever need an extra. Thanks, again!

Perhaps you should make it non-contact football to get numbers up, or simply just say fuck it, and organise a big game of bulldog, or perhaps "pom pom"

Why don't you sacrifice yourself mate? We'd all appreciate it... Or I'll do it:
3 Lions: Some good play son, but when you're 'catching' remember to count to 100 in the agreed format: "1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi etc etc".
Don Riina: Nice defensive work, but when making a dummy run, remember to inform your team mates...

Aug 19 2004, 9:45 am
Jimbo - One tip for you, I know your thin mate, but we CAN see you behind those lamposts. Try and vary your hiding locations, that'll stop you getting found first time.
