I am looking for a baby stroller. any suggestions where to shop for cheap bargains? Is there any second-hand baby stroller store? Thanks.
treqx
Two places I know of with a decent selection (new though, not used):

- Hertie (at Karlsplatz)
- Tutti Baby in Unterhaching

Cheers

I tried Hertie this week but their selection was largely for the HUGE prams that cost a fortune.

The other store, Tutti Baby, seems rather far away from me (I'm in Schwabing), so I don't want to go if it's just going to be like Hertie with those monstrous prams. Has anyone tried out this store?

What I'm looking for is a 3- or 4-wheel LIGHTWEIGHT (less than 25 lbs) stroller with larger wheels than my Britax we brought over. My small wheels are getting caught up on the curbs here and I almost got hit by a van this week who thought I was already on the curb... scared me pretty bad!

SO... if anyone can PLEASE provide some info on some larger stores that carry lots of different brands of strollers/pushchairs/kinderwagens, I would be deeply appreciative.

I want lightweight simply b/c we will be taking this stroller on and off the trains to travel to Berlin, Paris and down to Barcelona. Anything that folds easily and totes easily as well is a PLUS.

And if I do find something, I will be selling my Britax very cheaply! It's been a fantastic stroller and is in super condition. Only weighs 11 lbs.

Thanks a million!

Have you tried one of the shopping centres? Er, 'malls' if you don't get what 'centre' is.

Wal-Mart and Toys R Us have prams and stuff.
TuttiBaby
I am looking to buy Mclaren stroller (sorry if i miss spelled it). Please suggest me shops where can I buy this for cheaper price. I had been to Hertie but couldn't find it.

If anyone has one for sale let me know.

Thanks.

I just looked on eBay and they have a few for sale. Look under Kinderwagen and Kombis, then type in Maclaren. There are new and used for sale. I love eBay.

Well, you probably won't find a Maclaren stroller this way, as I think those are pretty rare in Germanby, but if you are looking to pick up something cheaply check out the children's second-hand markets (Kinderflohmärkte oder Kinderbasar) -- many of them have strollers. The Muttertreff in Moosach even does a Kinderwagen-only Flohmarkt 2X year -- next one is on November 19th, if memory serves...

E-bay is a good tip but you may have to watch the auctions for quite a while to get a good deal, the strollers tend to sell fairly expensively. that said my sister-in-law picked up a Teutonia with every possible accessory for about 200 Euros on Ebay, was probably around 800 new...

For new strollers, the non-plus-ultra is Babywelt in Augsburg. A bit of a drive, but my stroller (Hartan racer) cost about 80 Euros less there than here in Munich ... and they have a HUGE selection (of all baby things, actually).

Yeah I'm also looking a baby Pushchair (not very big). I will be travelling soon I need to buy this pretty quick. Been to Hertie, but i found it as expensive, If anyone wants to sell their old one, please drop a line.
Segmuller Baby section do they have lot of variety, want to go but it is far for me, don't want to waste my trip. thanks for your input
Cheers

Hi Kish,

in central Munich, you can either go to Schlichting on Marienplatz or Karstadt in Hauptbahnhof.
Schlichting is upmarket and has Bugaboos and Maclarens plus other quite expensive prams. Karstadt has Teutonias and other more reasonably priced brands.

Hope this helps

XXXLutz Baby Department has an extensive range and also try Real for the not so pricey stuff.

Karstadt at Hauptbahnhof has an excellent selection at decent prices. Some were on sale last weekend.

I am shopping for an umbrella stroller that is easier to manage and store on trains. Will look to ebay next.

Try XXL Lutz if you want someplace central. Schlicting is very expensive, and the sales people are a bit snobby and rude. Four ignored my daughter and me, even though there were no other customers in sight. They were too busy chatting among themselves. I was looking for an umbrella stroller, too (which I ended up buying in the US), and the sales lady at Karstadt took one look at my Bugaboo and said they don't have anything lighter than that. Hard to believe, but maybe she wasn't interested in a sale, either. We found the XXL Lutz to have the best service / offerings for central Munich. There is also a small shop on Lindwurmstrasse in between Sendlinger Tor and Goetheplatz called Baby Ansorge. They have everything you need for babies, but it is quite small. That said, they have many name brands, including Bugaboo.

everytime I have been to XXXlutz, the associates have been ouright rude to me (only in the baby section though!), because of that I stopped shopping there. Baby walz has a better selection than Tuttibaby. Often times there are used strollers for sale here on the items for sale, childrens, babies, somethinglink. If you are looking for something easy cheap, I have an extra Peg perego. I think they are way better than Mclaren. Whenever I see a Mclaren out they are tipped over, I have never seen a peg tipped over. If there is a peg stroller on the website you would like to see there is a haendler in dacchau and if you ask ahead of time you can try it out there, because there are some models that the stores do not stock, they are order only.

I love talking strollers, to me its like men talking cars, if you have any questions, just pm me!

Thank you all..I got my required one in XXXLutz...

Hi, I'm currently living in Canada but am moving to the Munich area in about a month - I'm 5 months pregnant and I'm wondering if I should buy a stroller here and bring it over or just buy one there. I've pretty much decided that I want the Phil and Teds brand - does anyone know if or where I can purchase that in Munich? I was trying to figure it out on the web but all the sites were in German! Any help would be great! Thanks!

I don't know which one you want specifically, here is one on amazon
http://www.amazon.de/Phil-Ted-Sport-rot-Si...6573&sr=8-6

so I am pretty sure if it is on amazon, you can find it here somewhere. but i don't know know where, i don't how if it is a better deal to buy one there and bring it. if you need any specific assistance, pm me.

We went to Segmueller in Parsdorf on Saturday to look at their Babby dpartment and they have a good selection of prams, we were loooking for the new Maxi cosi pram/pushchair and the lady gave us a full demonstration of it. The price wasn't bad but we've found we can get the complete package (incl car seat and base) for 100euros less on the internet. At least we got to see it there.

Hi,
Have not personally baught a buggy here in Germany, but there are many different brands! Great ones.
Although, I have just moved here from the UK, where Phil & Tedds is BIG. It is a great buggy. I have not seen any simelar buggies here. And I think you can get them cheaper in Canada.

It is also easier to ship a buggy with your household stuff in any way. No extra expenses...

Good luck on your move!
