We've just moved to Munich and live in the Schwabing area. We have two kids (5 years and 19 months). We are looking for playgroups, informal get-togethers and any kind of "mom's nights". We have a car and are willing to drive, within reason of course! Let me know if you want to get together or know of any organized groups. I do know about Munich Munchkins and Sticky Fingers already.

So far Munich has been great but we are in need of developing a social life! Any suggestions are welcomed!

Hello All,

I've been running the English Playgroup at the Eltern-Kind-Zentrum in Schraudolphst. 10 for about a year.

ELKI Schwabing - Eltern-Kind-Zentrum, Schraudolphstrasse 10

It's a nice gathering place and we recently diversified our little group to serve two different age groups in the dreary winter months.

We now have a group for little ones 0-18 months (I'm thinking of calling Creepy Crawly Crooners) Friday 9-10:30 and a second group 18 months and up (Tunes for Tots? 10:30 - 12:00). If you have mixed age siblings feel free to come to whichever group works best.

ELKI is a nonprofit organization and charges 1,50 for members and 3,00 for non-members per session. The sessions are open no pre-registration necessary. Schraudolphst. 10 is close to the U3/6 uni stop and even closer to the 27 Tram stop at Barerst.

We also have a Tuesday coffee and cake session that has kind of become an informal English group. No charge (just for coffee and the like).

Schraudolphstraße 10,
80797 Munich-Schwabing

Thanks for looking.

Hello - we will be moving to Munich (most likely Schwabing) in January and staying only a few months. What is the best way for me to help my 3 children (ages 7, 9 and 11) to find friends? - Linda

Hi Mamas,

This week Mums Out ‘n’ About are meeting in the city centre at the ‘Englischer Garten’. We can enjoy a coffee at the ‘Seehaus’ and then play with our bubs in the park. Bring a picnic rug, ball or frisbee and let’s have some fun with the kids.

Meeting point is “Münchner Freiheit (U3/U6) at 10am this Wednesday 23rd July. We will wait for you at the top of the lift (directly in front of Karstadt). If you are coming by car you can park on ‘Feilitzschstrasse’, we will then walk together to the Englischer Garten, 10 min by foot.

We look forward to seeing you!
Love Angie & Joshua
PS – In case of rain, I will send an email update on Tuesday.
