Hey all,
are you looking for an English Playgroup for your kids aged from 3 years?
Berlin International Kids Club (BIKC) has English playgroups for both native and non-native English-speaking kids. The good thing is our playgroup teachers are all native English speakers with degrees and teaching experience.
If you want your kids to have English playmates and at the same time get to know other german kids and learn or improve their English at the same time, perhaps we might want to come to our playroom and have a trial session.
The teachers do activities like painting, storytelling, puzzel, ball game, songs, body movement. Kids are pretty multinational. If you can't afford pricey billingual kindergarten or schools, the berlin international kids club might be an option for you at least to give your kids an environment outside home or school to speak their mother tongue.
All the best,
Jessa

For an English speaking playgroup in Zehlendorf, try calling the JFK Friendship Center. 8184000. They are located at Von-Luck-Str. 24. They used to have something. I think, if they don't, they would know who does. Good luck.

Berlin-Charlottenburg English Playgroup (

Children attending our weekly meetings at the "Haus der Familie" range from small babies to toddlers. Come along and enjoy a nice cup of tea or coffee...

Hi,
I am temporarily living in Berlin -- Mitte, near Hackesher Markt -- having relocated here with my fifteen month old twins while my husband works on a project in town. I've been taking my toddlers to the playgrounds but they seem so deserted! Since I don't speak any German, I've tried striking up a friendly conversation with the few families I've met but it is usually met with indifference. (Is this a cultural thing or a language barrier thing?) It breaks my heart to see my twins playing all by themselves, day after day. I would love to meet up with some friendly English-speaking families with toddlers close in age to mine.
Thanks,
Lisa

Hi
Thanks for the info, i have heard of aufgepasst, as I stayed in Wilmersdorf last year for afew months, but I thought that was a bit of a trek at 8am in the morning with a three and one year, but if the public transport went near, I could give it a go!!!
Thanks for the info on the swimming pools, it would be great to be able to take them swimming, do you know if the pool at the olympic stadium is still there or has that gone?
Thanks again

hi there,
Here is the link to the Stadtbad Charlottenburg which includes opening times etc:
www.in-berlin-brandenburg.com/Verzeichnis/B/Baeder/Stadtbad_Charlottenburg_Neue_Halle.html
to the right, you will see a complete list (with links) of swimming pools in Berlin and then below all of the "freibad" which are outdoors and often at lakes.
Olympia Stadium has a summer pool only
