Hi everybody

So xmas is coming up and my kids are driving me mental "I want this, I want that", But my eldest also wants to go to karate or something along them lines, he is 4 and has so much energy.

I put him in an all German speaking Kindergarten in september and is doing well, so I think he can understand the language by now so German speaking classes is ok.

I would like to know if anybody knows of any clubs around the sachsenhausen area for karate or judo or tai whatever it is called.

Anything would be greatfully appriciated.

I cannot understand alot of German so if people have websites could you just translate it for me thanks. biggrin.gif

Ju-Jitsu is a great martial art and any kids I know that take part love it. Maybe do a search on Google for clubs in your area.

I have tried googling and can't understand what is being said

A couple of links Uechi-Ryu Karate.

Perhaps you can't read the German but you should be able to locate the contact details and a phone number.

Also, try PMing Elfenstar. I believe she kicks the crap out of people from time to time.

Leo also has a pile of links mentioning karate. You could phone some of them.

Karate in Frankfurt that's waht i get when i put "karate in frankfurt" in google.

it's not easy to find a club. there are so many. look for "karate verein". those are cheaper than private schools. most schools/clubs offer 3 or 4 free trainings to try it out. also some clubs have a minimum age, so maybe your chap is too young. i think where i went in munich, their minimum age was 8.

EDIT: Karate in Hessen: try writing them an email. it can be in english. i know my first email to the karate club in munich was. maybe they can help you narrow down a search for clubs for kids.

they also have a section for "Vereins (Homepages)". Scroll down to "Frankfurt" and just browse.

For kids, I'd recommend Capoeira first and foremost. There seem to be a few schools you can pick from: http://www.google.nl/search?hl=en&q=capoeira+frankfurt. If you want something Japanese, then aikido rather than jiu-jitsu.

I have foound one karate club near mickels alle but they won't answer the phone and they haven't replied to the email this was a few weeks ago.

It was on a saturday but started about 9ish in the morning which meant I would have to leave mine about 8ish coz I have no car, Just wanted to know if there was anything nearer.

thanks for all the links will have to get someone to translate them otherwise I could end up with a very expensive phone bill blink.gif

Why don't you try it here:

Karate-Judo
Schloßstr. 13 - 15
60486 Frankfurt- Bockenheim
Tel.: 069- 703 703

They do courses for children and it would take you less than a half hour to get to Bockenheim from Sachsenhausen.

My daughter goes to an English speaking katate class on Saturday mornings with Bruce Stafford: email: prekarate@gmx.de, tel: 069 707 95394.

Its on Saturday mornings from 9.45am to 10.45am in the church hall of the Anglical Episcopal Church of Christ the King, Sebastian-Rinz Strasse 22, Frankfurt.

They are finished now until after Christmas and I don't know whether he is here in Frankfurt during Christmas or not. My daughter loves it. Its for 4-6 year olds.

The class in Miquelallee is moving to Bornheim in March, I don't know if the connections would be better for you.

Hi Guys

Its looking live I'm going to be moving to Frankfurt with work around October.

I am a 2nd degree black belt and instructor in Kickboxing and Sport Karate. I have also been training heavily in submission wrestling and MMA for the past 4 years. I really want to continue with some form of Martial Arts during my time in Frankfurt, and was wondering if anyone on here can recommend any gyms/dojos for me to contact.

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

Cheers
Paul
