Starting an English-speaking playgroup

Who would be interested in starting an English playgroup?

I organize an English playgroup that perhaps you would like to join?
We actually have a special meeting next week where quite a few new people will be coming, and you would be welcome to join us if it's your side of town.
We will meet in the church hall at the "Gute Hirte" Church directly next to the S-Bahn station Langenfelde, on tuesday from 4.30-6 pm.

Shala, you're also welcome - I think we spoke once upon a time...

Our kids are 4, 5 and 6 (years) and we also have one 10 month old baby...

I made a mistake, the new meetup is not this coming tuesday the 20th but tuesday the 27th. We will be having an hour of singing, dancing, games and stories and then half an hour of pottery (if everything works out) ...
Please let me know if you do wish to come so that we can be sure of informing you in case of last minute changes...

I'd possibly be interested dependant on time and location. I've a 20 month old and a 2 month old, we live not far south of Hamburg (in Klecken). It would be good for them to have interaction with others who speak english. Hopefully tomorrow our 20month old will be going to the local German playgroup for the first time.

I'd be interested in starting a playgroup, my 1 year old definately needs to socialise a bit more, hey me too come to that!

I'm part of a group that meets once a week, all with babies under one year (Shala is also part of the group). At the moment, at least until the weather improves, we meet at Cafe May in Eimsbuettel. You can email me (Brooklynblade@perucci.org) and I can give you more details.

I just read about your playgroup. Me and my little daughter (5 1/2 month) are looking desperately for an english playgroup! But we won´t be able to join you if you still meet up on Tuesdays, because we´ve got our PEKiP-Group, in which we´re already for about 3 month. Maybe you could give me more information?

Saw the post. It's really interesting. However, I have a problem for which I thought this was the best forum to ask. I am an India moving to Hamburg on student Visa in October 2007 for 3 and a half month. I will have a one year old baby girl with me. I'll have to attend university classes at the University of Hamburg, during which time I need good nursery facilities for my baby. My scholarship is very limited and I don't know how to manage. Since I have no idea about Hamburg, nor any friends or relations there, I'm feeling helpless. Please tell me if you know about anything that would be of my help.

I've just seen an advert for a toddlers' playgroup (English speaking!) at the Elternschule in Altona/St Pauli - Thedestr. 101 - Monday afternoons 3.30-5.30pm.
Looks like you can just turn up & join in, no need to register beforehand.

The Elternschule Altona playgroup's summer break is on. Has anyone been able to form a playgroup a three and a half months old girl and her father may join? I look forward to hearing from you!

hi everyone,
I am new in hamburg (Tonndorf area) with two kids aged 2 and nearly one. I am looking for any english speaking playgroups in the area so that my kids can meet some new buddies and hopefully so can I!

Unfortunately I don't drive but have heard the public transport here is pretty good.
Any advice/assistance greatly received!

Just discovered this thread after I already posted elsewhere, so here goes again;-)

Hi, I'm looking for or will organize a playgroup so that my children can meet and play with english speaking children.
My three kids are 0-4 years old so I guess the other kids should be too.

Location would be in or around Hamburg maybe even Bad Oldesloe/Bad Segeberg.

I have a 7month old son and would also be interested in finding a playgroup. I have heard that some of the churches have such activities but I haven't found one yet.: possibly due to the fact that I never go to church - unless they have jumble sales:)
