Too far away for you but we used to host a weekly bridge evening for many years. It was the
DESY Bridge Group and at one stage grew to 18 attendees (4 tables & 1 pair sat out). In the beginning we wandered from flat to flat but when we got a house & small kids & numbers grew our place was the only location where we could fit in.
We were a real international bunch (given the visitors to DESY) with people from : UK, Germany, Switzerland, US, Canada, Czech Republic, Poland (excellent players), Netherlands (guy was a bridge referee at national level), Israel, Russia, China ... It was really impressive 10 years or so ago to have at one table two Chinese playing against a US/Russian pair.
Sadly the group faded away a few years ago when the Hera accelerator closed down & the research groups moved away. We miss those evenings!
