Ok I know its a bit stupid but I am looking for a service to do pet sitting for my pet while I am travelling.
Would anyone know about such a service? Or have any idea on How it would be called in german?
Thanks

Not sure, sorry. But what kind of pet is it? How long and when are you travelling?

I'm also not sure where you would find this.
However, I sent you a PM as I may be interested in taking care of your pet.
I might be interested too. I love dogs and cats, but am a little hesitant to get my own. (Not sure how long I'll be staying here) But it might be fun to Pet Sit..Then I'd get to have a pet w/ all the vet bills, food, and extra expense! I might even do it for free...( The first time anyways..but if I didn't like the animal, it wouldn't be free after that!
I live in Dresden~ Striesen area.
Je peux parler français aussi~ Alors, ce n'est pas une probleme si ton ami ne parles pas l'anglais!! tee hee hee

All,
Thank you for the offers to pet sit my cat, however since it is going to be a recuring thing I was looking for a commercial service only.
In any cases she is definitly not that friendly so... you did not miss much :-)

We take our cat out to a cattery in Pennrich. The cats are kept in pens rather like in this picture:
http://www.downlands-kennels.supanet.com/Cattery.jpg (that's not the place, it just looks about that size). The pens are a bit shabby, but clean, and the cat has been there 15 times now and always come back unscathed.

You can also look it up in the Branchenbuch under Tierpension for more addresses. Make sure you go there beforehand and see if it is clean/the cats are in suitable-sized pens. One place we looked at (not in DD) kept them in rabbit hutches :-(
I haven't heard of an actual catsitting service - if you would prefer someone to go to your home you'd probably have to do it privately.

Thank you Anne K,
You are my knight in shining armor today! Both an address and the actual german name for those services :-) Outstanding.
