Renting a football field for training

Advice on how to go about this

Hi

Brand new to TT and pretty new to Berlin (3 months) and looking for some advice :-)

I'm from Sweden and there I play seven a side with some friends and we try to have a "training camp" once a year. This means a few hours of football on sat-sun and then beer and food in the afternoon. Since I moved have my friends suggested it'd be fun to come here and have the camp in Berlin so I'm trying to check around for how to arrange this.

Basically what I need to find out is how to rent a football field, we don't need a full size since we play seven a side but I'd prefer to book since I'd want to be sure we can have the field all day long without having to move around looking for another one. Also if anyone knows about how much it costs for say 4*2 hours on an ok-ish field.

So, does anyone have a clue how to do this? Is there some sort of organization that handles all bookings or will I have to look at every field for contact info (and someone who speaks English since my German smells)? Living in Wedding/Rehberge I know I have 4 real ones just around the corner, but I don't have a clue how to go about renting them...

Thanks in advance!

If it's not otherwise being used on the day you need, most Sportvereine (Sport clubs) will allow you to use their facilities, often for free if it's a good cause. You may need to pay a cleaning or maintenance charge if you use their changing rooms or showers. Many Sportsvereine have bars or restaurants attached so you can help to bring them business too. Alternatively, if language is a real problem, why not contact one of the international schools, such as The Berlin International School to see what facilities they have, and if you can have access to them.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I guess walking off to the clubs around is what I should try first then, my German is a bit of a problem if it comes to something fairly advanced like negotiating a price, time and rules around field rental/borrowing but hopefully will they know a bit of English and in combination with my lousy German we'll work something out...

If it turns ugly I can ask some German colleague to help me out (who are all very non sporty spice and didn't have a clue about how to fix this)
