Squash playing group at Sport Oase (Tiergarten)

Hiya,

I'm going to be in Berlin for a few months and wandered whether anyone was interested in hooking up for a few games of squash / badminton in the Prenzlauer Berg / Mitte / Orianburger Str areas of Berlin. I'm an ok player but certainly nothing special but always enjoy a good game and hit aorund?

I got to Berlin about a month ago and have been looking for a squash partner... would love to play.

Let me know if anyone is interested.

I normally play badminton at the Tib sports centre (near Templehof) on Friday evenings from 7pm till 11pm (we're looking for more people to join us if anyone's interested!) but I could really do with more exercise so I'd definitely be up for playing another night (not Tuesdays).

Anyone interested?

P.S. I play badminton & squash with a slight preference for badminton. I'd say I'm competent but far from exceptional at both sports.

I am looking for a few people to start a regular squash and/or badminton sessions. I live in Charlottenburg, but am willing to travel a reasonable distance depending on the quality of facilities available and pricing.

I am not a beginner, but am not a good player either. I play to keep fit rather than to compete.

Also, if anyone has suggestions for venues and advice on pricing/booking procedures, please feel free to comment.

i'm not a newbie to squash, but i wont be playing competition any time soon either.

i played pretty regular for a few years but havent played in a while.

i'm in the mitte/kreuzburg area, so i'm pretty central. any place around would be good.
i'll keep a eye on the post if any one else wants to try and get fit

I don't want to procrastinate (I feel really unfit!), so I am good to go if only one other person can agree on a time and date for now. We'll take it from there.

TIME
I can basically play anytime during the day before 5pm (I work nights Sun to Thurs), except on Tuesday. My preference is for weekdays (once we start to play regularly), but for now I do not mind weekends if I am not travelling.

VENUE
I propose we start with somewhere in or around Mitte. Any suggestions?

Might be interested to play badminton... I would need to buy a racket since I didn't bring one here.

I'm also not exceptionnal, but I can play.

I would prefer weekdays in the evening.

Two of us had a session of squash on Friday evening at City-Sports in Mitte. Lots of sweat and a good workout to resume my planned 'healthy and fit' lifestyle. However, more players are welcome.

Also, I am looking to get a group together for regular short hikes (from 2 hours to full day) in and around Berlin during the weekends. Please PM me if you are interested. I'll start a new thread if necessary.

Sounds good. Another possibility is to book 2 courts. This way we can change players more often and everyone can play everyone without any downtime.

either way works for me but if we have 2 courts than we get no rest in between matches!

I'm with Daniwar. I prefer one court if there are only four of us. My old bones and heart needs the rest.

if u want to get a racket, i was looking at karstadt sport earlier for when i eventually
break mine. i am a racket killer.

the karstadt sport in kudamm has a couple for sale. ranging from 25 to 100 euro.
and there is one in nuekoelln as well.
