Relive the last Coldplay concert in Munich - If anyone wants to hear what Coldplay sounded like the last time they played Munich, (September 26, 2008) you can click through to this UK radio station, Absolute Radio's Live in Munich recording. Munich taxi-drivers in fourth place nationwide - There are approximately 3400 taxis in Munich (hard to believe at 4am on January 1), most of them organized in the Taxi-Genossenschaft (taxi collective). Lenbachhaus closed for three years from early 2009 - If Munich's Lenbachhaus art gallery is on your list of "places to visit sometime when I get around to it", don't leave it too long. Munich Apple store opens December 6, 2008 - Apples first store in Germany is to rumoured to be opening December 10th at 1 Rosenstrasse. The first rumours started circling on the net in March when a set of architects plans for hte site were released. There were no names on the plans, but a big apple logo above the doors kinda gave it away. Apple have not yet confirmed the opening date. MVG campaign against bad manners in the U-Bahn - As leeza mentioned, the MVG is launching a campaign against various bad habits common among its passengers. Millionaire Fair - over 100 luxury brands on show - Germany's first Millionaire Fair opens this Thursday at the Messe München. On show will be exhibits from over 100 luxury brand names. These include car manufacturers Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Aston Martin, as well as companies from the health, beauty, fashion, and jewellery industries. Stadtbäche to be switched off for annual dredging - For the last three weeks of October there will be no swimming, surfing, or drowning in the Eisbach. This is because the stream is due to be drained for its annual dredging, repairs, and clean up. The Stadtbäche are the man-made streams that run through central Munich.
