Commercial banner ads
Commercial banner adverts are the option that is suitable for most businesses wishing to advertise via Toytown Germany. Simply email us the essential information about your business, and we then take care of the rest.
Prices:
The prices for banner advertising range from €50 to €150 per month plus 19% MwSt. The exact price depends on the nature of the product or service being advertised and how in demand that product or service is amongst the TT readership.
In general, banner ads for small local business will cost more towards the €50 end of the scale. An ad for a large nationwide business, however, will cost more towards €150. For example, a local Indian restaurant is considered a small business and ads would cost €50. A nationwide health insurance company is a large business that would generate many new clients, thus ads would cost €150.

Format:
The banner advertising takes the form of a banner in the top right-hand corner of the webpages; a business page describing the advertised product/service; a listing in the business directory; an entry in the forum classifieds; and optimisations for the search function as well as in searches on Google and other internet search engines. Free private ads
Private ads may be posted for free to the classified adverts section of the chat forum. By "private ads" we mean adverts for things like furniture for sale, apartment rentals, language partners sought and so on. All on a non-commercial basis. To post an advert you must first register an account on the chat forum. This is free and only takes a minute.
Google ads
Google Ads are suitable for advertisers who are themselves very web savvy. By using Google Ads you don't have to contact us at TT at all. Instead you create, manage, and pay for your ads all via the Google website.
Google ads can often cost the advertiser just a few cents to publish. To take advantage of these, go to adwords.google.com and open a Google Adwords account. Create your advert there and then specify that Google should publish the ad on toytowngermany.com.
Google will then automatically place your ads on the TT pages that are most relevant. For example, if you are advertising a beauty salon, Google will place your ad on all TT pages that relate to beauty treatments.
Google ads are currently placed in three positions on the TT website:
- They appear in the top right-hand corner of the standard chat forum pages. Note that this space is also shared with our commercial banner ads. The Google ads are displayed approximately two pages out of seven (or 28% of the time).
- They appear in the top right-hand corner of all lofi chat forum pages. This space is not shared with commercial banner ads.
- They appear in every chat forum discussion that is four or more posts long. The ad is positioned after the third post in a thread. These ads are only visible to readers who are not logged into the chat forum.
Readership statistics
As of August 2008, Toytown Germany serves over 3.5 million web pages per month, see our detailed statistics report. According to our Google Analytics, these pages are served to over 250,000 absolute unique visitors per month. Thus Toytown Germany is by far the most widely-read English-language chat forum in Germany.
Detailed readership statistics are as follows:
- There are currently around 50 existing advertisers on the website
- Aproximately 20,000 regular readers. "Regular" means at least one visit per month.
- Over 11,000 registered members on the forum
- Over 500 new members register each month
- A large percentage of the 230,000 English-speaking Expats in Germany are regular readers of the site.
- TT is within the top 30,000 most visited websites in the world
- Over 8,500 members actively log in every three months or more
- Over 800 members actively log in every single day
- Over a 100 thousand web pages read every weekday (over three million pages per month)
- Many events each week, often with up to forty people attending. Eg. pub drinks, curry nights, etc...
- Website has been online over four years, i.e. since August 2002.
Based on these statistics, and from our knowledge of the community, it is very clear that Toytown Germany is the most visited and well known English language chat forum in Germany. So if you wish to quickly and efficiently gain exposure to a large section of Germany's English-speaking community, then advertising via Toytown Germany is an excellent opportunity.
