Auf Wiedersehen Net, known as AWN for short, was a website for British expatriates living in Germany. It was established in 1997 and until around 2002 it grew to become the most popular site for Brits in Germany.
The name "Auf Wiedersehen Net" was a pun on the popular British TV program called Auf Wiedersehen, Pet - a comedy-drama series about a group of seven British migrant construction workers who are living and working on a German building site.
